Reinstalled the app over 10 times. Rebooted the phone well over 100 times with app installed. Has not worked once, ever.

Any suggestions at all?

From wiki: "You can save time building up your block list by copying your existing patterns.ini to your tablet here: /home/user/.mozilla/microb/adblockplus. For example, on Windows XP it can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default\adbl ockplus."

Adblock Plus won't work properly right afterr install you need to build up a blick list.

Never used adblock on N900, so correct me if i'm wrong.

Try using adflashblock-css instead. I had the same problem with the adblock package, but adflashblock works fine.

Reviving my old thread. Problem persists.

@gerrymoth: I tried following the guide, but the plugin never installs. The plugin downloads fine, but doesn't install when I try to restart MicroB.

I have the same problem. I can download and install adblock from the application manager. When I go to add-ons in MicroB, it says MicroB needs to be restart.

This will work!

1. Uninstall the old adblock from app manager.
2. Delete everything in home/user/.mozila/microb/extensions
use ssh & winscp for easy acces.
3. Follow the steps in the linked url. http://browser.garage.maemo.org/news/12/

The solution by CarstenDutch will work but some people like myself dont know anything about SSH and stuff like that so

Here are some tips to get it work

1. Uninstall 1.0.2 version if you installed from repository

Restart!

2. Get access to .mozilla/micorb/extensions ( I've used Cute Explorer, Show Hidden option enabled) and see that only one folder is there starting with {ce402fde.... ( Ovi Suite automatic login plugin) If you dont have other plugins then delete everything except that folder

3. Follow instructions HERE

NOTE:
When you click "Click here to download XPI extension" on N900 it will install addon automatically
Now the tricky part, even though MicroB shows icon to restart itself actually it doesn't do it so you have to do it manually

4. Without closing the browser go to x terminal and type

Code:
killall browser browserd
5. Open MicroB and follow the rest of instructions on the page from 3rd step

6. When install is done and filter is loaded you can just check using a webpage or via CuteExplorer, I've circled the folder that should be there

Cheers
Let me know if its not working

@HellFlyer

SWEET
Thanks. Will try this soon. What exactly is the "3rd step" in the link of instructions you posted? They don't seem to be listed
