Doesn't that mean that the competitions have become fiercer for Maemo/MeeGo in US?
Instead of just having to contend with Blackberry and iPhone, which each have their own market niches; Now Android is mature enough to pose as yet one more of the formidable foes.

Yeah, I've made similar comments in the past too... it was quite obvious when they've gotten Samsung's support. I predict that Apple will probably regain their old spot in Q2 and/or Q3 (due to their yearly new model launch) before they get overtaken by Android; permanently this time.
They still have the most apps in their app store: 196k apps in the appstore, 230k approved. Yeah, I've no idea what theyre doing with those numbers. I'm sure they're delaying the 200k'th apps on purpose, to coincide with WWDC or something.
They can also still boast about being the most profitable (per unit) in the smartphone arena. This is quite enviable, as it directly relates to long term sustainability of the companies...
