Hi all!
I've been having problems with art work in the media player for ages now. I've just finished re-tagging all my music and taking out cover art then replacing with proper art work again.
STILL, it is showing up as wrong in the media player!
I have just spent around 4 hours doing this! I went to terminal and typed in the usual "tracker-processes -r" which made all the music disappear and then reload - mostly with the correct album art.
Lots of the album art has shown up sharing the same art even though they are seperate albums, artists and songs. What gives?
Rant over but help would be appreciated!
Thanks guys

Had the same problem and gave up, but then I found the app called " MussOrgsky " . Now i have no problems with album art, as far as i know you should find it in Extras-Devel.. Hope this helps.

Yeah. I constantly have this issue. It sucks. I don't use the media player anymore. I just use Symfonie. lol.
Get an app called Tracker Cfg and try the option to rebuild the database.

I have the problem and submitted the bug to Nokia. Hopefully they'll fix it.

I understand why lots of people love Mussorgsky - I tried it and it further messed up my album art. When I tried manually fixing the album art using Mussorgsky, it couldn't find half of it and I ended up using the 'art not found' icon.
I have downloaded Symfonie now. All I can say is - WTF? Gonna have to spend time with it trying to make sense of it.
Don't get me wrong - I'm still totally in love with my N900 and I understand it is still largely in development; I just wish it would just work like most other phones.
I hate that this is a top end phone/tablet and yet Nokia haven't even got it working with Ovi Suite. It is only just about able to talk to PC Suite. When connected to my laptop in Mass Storage Mode, I have the N900 icon and another icon that won't do anything. After connecting in Mass mode, I need to restart the phone and restart the laptop to get it to work in PC Suite mode. What gives?
Hopefully pr1.2 will address some of these issues.

This ainīt going to be pretty.
Welcome to world of pc/linux. Everything seems bit off and you need hammer occasionally. All apps that have features more than ten seem to work almost 95% of time as you want them to behave Good thing thou is that xterm and shell works exactly by your command. Nahh...just some apps have weird behaviour.

There is free alternatives but I have to admit that even thought they are nice on some sides they still look a bit "Daddy look what i made" stuff and probably are not as power efficient as default media player.

And to your problem. I would like to ask that what exactly you are trying to do with album art? For me it has worked quite nicely when i have used folder.jpg & cover.jpg in same directory as album. I have never used tags for cover images. Is it even standardised? I would not be surprised if 5 mpix picture as cover image fcks up system whenever itīs full moon. Low resolution images in album folders would be IMO safe bet. Although i do not know what is the correct file name or does it even matter.

I would like to see MussOrgsky list the memory card for the album art, when you browse for it.

I did try the Google Album Art Plugin, but for some reason, for my "Survivor" ~ "Burning Heart" album it pulled in an advert for indigestion remedies.
