the device is still unintuitive after all this time .... still no commercial application and I cannot really see any effort from nokia to put this device on top of the competition.

Nokia has confirmed it wont fix lots of bugs, other than that its the same thing. the only saving grace the device has is the dedicated community who have helped fix many of my issues.

Why can't we have one giant thread called "b*tchin' 'bout sh*t"?

that's the only reason I'n staying with n900. the community is so great most of the people are very very helpful. Ive never seen such this supportive community.

I honestly believe meego will never be implemented to n900. if its unofficially supported then that means even if we successfully ported meego to n900 then it still is not most efficient/os to work with n900. just imagine easy debian, android, mac os x, win 95, win vista ..... they're all slow and is not that efficient to use ... or call feature is missing.

the only major thing that happened to this device is this community helping each other to make the device as efficient as possible.

i think you'll find the n900 was not launched in September and it did not start shipping until a few months later

1) people who are b*tchin' 'bout sh*t get told to buy an iPhone when actual what they are saying is: " this is the closest thing to the perfect device out there but how can it be that Nokia can get so much right yet still Screw up the basics!" what they are not saying is: "stop working on this its so bad it wont ever succeed". every complaint is a vote for improvement from someone who cares.
2) complaining is basically where you get to when things go bad and no one listens to you - complaining is effectively a feeble attempt to generate mutual support for a cause.
3) it is important to listen to and distill the complaints, and not react as i see to often here.

Maybe it's because they are desktop OSes. Just maybe.

And the android port is still a work in progress. Maybe if you helped or something, we could make phone calls

This is just ridiculous. dj_steve is working very hard to port Android to the n900. How many android devices have the 2.1 update? All you can do is sit on your bloody computer and b*tch about how you can't make calls yet. Maybe its because he is still working on it, i.e. it is not ****ING done.
Look at this. It is plenty fast. It is responsive. Let him finish his work before you dismiss it as "slow and is not that efficient"

Some of y'all on this forum are just impossible. Get a grip or something. Quit yer b*tchin'

Maybe if we have all these complaints in one big fat thread, it could serve as a warning for potential buyers, eh?

That way potential buyers can make and "informed" decision and we don't have threads like this respawning every 5 mins.

We all win

There are so many improvements on the N900 since its inception that I think it would be difficult to list them all. But it's dumb to start listing them just before PR1.2 is released. Of course I'm assuming that you want to include all the changes the community has brought about, a huge number.

Edit: To be clear, every program written or enhanced for the N900 counts as an improvement. It's not that unusual for improvements for be made on individual programs practically every day (or more). Look at fMMS or Witter or the overclocking thread for examples. Try listing all of them, even.

You might want to forget software enhancements and just count something else. That would be completely blind to what is going on.

That would be great!

Can you unwrap all the noise from around them and start distilling?
