I own an N900 which i bought from Nokia USA via newegg.com. I use it in Canada and have been extremely happy with it. I've been trying to find out something which I haven't found on any forums or blogs anywhere and thought maybe I could find help here.

I heavily use the FM transmitter and so far in Canada it works superbly. The problem is that I will soon be moving to Pakistan and that is where my problem begins.

The FM frequencies that are built in on the rotating wheel on the N900 for the phone are odd numbered, i.e., 100.1 100.3 100.5 etc. Pakistan uses even numbered frequencies, such as 100.0, 100.2, 100.4 etc.

Any idea how I can go about changing this?

Any help would be appreciated, or if you could point me in the direction.

Install it and reboot.
Expect some <unknown> strings in Settings > About Product.

You shouldn't need to change anything. Your car radio will pick up the odd-numbered frequencies just fine.

I installed this and was working fine. A few days later, 0.3 was released and the upgrade instructions stated to uninstall 0.2 first.

I did that and installed 0.3 but now the FM transmitter does not work at all stating that the FM transmitter cannot be used at this time.

So I've uninstalled fmtx-faker and at least have the transmitter working again.

Any idea how I can further troubleshoot this?

I hope we can use 87.5MHz (and below?) and 108MHz (and higher?) sometime, then the FM transmitter would become WAY more useful. At least in my region are on kinda all frequencies radio stations except the two named ones above.
