Purchased phone in November, received Dec 31. Filed for the rebate a couple of weeks later (about a week before the last possible date) sent from New Zealand to Nokia Rebate Centre in US. Received the rebate back via my mother-in-law about 4 weeks ago.
Spent it last weekend at a shop in NZ.

"sent from New Zealand to Nokia Rebate Centre in US"

Since then, nothing but silence.
Are you trying to insinuate that New Zealanders get special treatment in the US? That would be a first(Maybe it is a case of last on, first off?)
I can tell you that you (hopefully) will get a nice silver Visa prepaid card with the Nokia logo on it, loaded with USD$50. You can spend it anywhere that accepts the card.

It was supposed to take 8-10 weeks to process, and I sent it in December.
Well... it's been a fun 22 weeks later, and I still haven't received it yet.

NOTE: The website itself may not be legitimate, but the rebate form is the same as offered by Amazon. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR IMEI.
I've contacted Nokia several times. Below is my e-mail discussion with them.
My personal information is censored. (My e-mail is not xxx@xxx.com)
My first contact:

[Nokia's required initial contact information]
[Message: I sent a rebate in mid-December and still have not received the
$50 card.
The rebate form is at
http://www.nokiapromos.com/438-12/De...0pad%20400.pdf
And was advertised on Amazon.com (also my purchase location)
Many other phone owners (many N900 owners at least), have not received
their rebates either.
I called sometime in the middle of February, because the form said it would
take 8-10 weeks maximum to process, and the representative said it would be
another 2-3 weeks before I would receive it, because there was "a large
number to process."
It's been nearly a month and a half now, and I still haven't received it.
I would appreciate a clear explanation as to why I still haven't received
my rebate (which was one of the reasons why I purchased it), and when I
should expect to ACTUALLY receive it if there has been another "processing
delay."
Thanks,
Andy

Okay, the standard "wait a couple days" response. So I waited, and a Nokia rep called me several times, all of which were during the school day, so I obviously could not answer. His messages were garbled, and I couldn't get the number.

Hello Sir/Madam,
A couple days ago, a Customer Care representative called me and left a
voicemail message telling me to call him back at an 866 number. The message
was somewhat scrambled, and I could not determine the correct number.
I would prefer to be contacted through e-mail from now on.
They for some reason kept calling me, instead of following up by e-mail. So one day the rep left an intelligible message, so I called the number he provided. I called once, then after providing my information, the rep (a different guy) would say "One moment, I'm looking up your file."
The call was dropped.
I called again, this time a woman answered. I again provided my information, and she said, "OK, wait a second while I look you up." The call was dropped again.
Combined with the fact I'm using a really reliable VOiP service (ooma), I highly doubt it was from my end.
I e-mailed them again.

(Continuing the same issue).
I've called several times, and every time, after the rep askes me for my phone number so he/she can look up the file, the call gets dropped.
Could I please just be contacted through e-mail?
(I am oftentimes not able to answer the phone because 1.) I am at school, and it's a no phone zone, 2.) I leave my N900 in offline mode most of the day to save battery; I never use it for socializing.)
No response for a while. Then:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm quite sorry if I'm being impatient, but that "immediate action" has taken almost another month now.
My purchase of said accessories probably won't come if I can't even get my rebate, (which, again, was one of the primary reasons for my purchase).
Regards,
Andy
Thanks to anyone who's read this far. If you've just skipped down here, basically all Nokia did in response to my e-mails is idle around, and when they did take action, nothing would work.
If you're still waiting, reply.
The formatting of some e-mails may be different as I've compiled them from both my mail's web client and my N900.
Oh, and isn't it ironic how they're trying to get me to buy more phones and accessories when they won't even give me my freaking rebate?
