I updated OM weather 2 days ago and now my battery life has gone bad. I just charge my phone to full and it was just on standby the for 12 hours. I just update the weather condition on my phone via wi-fi and then disconnect it. Just now I checked my battey life is already half empty on standby. The only thing I've done was update the OM weather program when it nofied me that there's an available update.

Anybody experience the same problem.

Is there a way to know if OM weather is the one draining my battery? If it is how do I fix the problem?

did you already a restart?
OMWeather asks everytime it gets an update to restart the n900. don't know why, though. and if this will solve your problem.
but you can try.
please report here if it was solved..

Easiest would be to uninstall OM weather and see if the battery drain stops.

But, as pointed out above, you probably want to try rebooting first. There are also some bugs in the phone's default apps that cause them to get stuck and drain battery quickly, until it's restarted.

Since the update ive found my battery is dying VERY fast as well, I haven't done anything else... I may try uninstalling and testing again.

I switched from OM Weather to the default - yet somewhat inferior - Foreca Weather application and it seems to be more battery friendly.

Just for your reference, it doesn't seem to me that OM Weather drain more battery that before lately. The update interval I set is 4 hours. May be you should consider longer update interval?

Btw, I still use 2.6.28.10power27.

I've notced that my battery has draining a little faster over the past 2 weeks or so. I have also had (2) OM Weather updates in about the same time frame as well. I'll also check by uninstalling.
