I have a bunch of music in ALAC so it could be held in iTunes. Does the n900 support these files?

Not sure about the integrated media player, but MPlayer should be able to play the Apple Lossless files. Just get one of those MPlayer front-ends available via the application manager. Search for mplayer.

Answered my own question, kinda. Loaded an ALAC album and it played perfectly in the default player (though I installed the additional codecs before). Awesome!

Alright, just tested streaming an ALAC file with the Maemo media player from my web server and it does work but I guess only because I installed the Extra Decoders Support package ( http://maemo.org/downloads/product/M...oders-support/ ).
