Is there a way to access my windows shared files in the network ?

file manager, it should appear beneath your home folder... just share directory on win machine and grant everyone read or full access rights

You need the modified kernel (in the maemo repo) which includes SMB (samba) support.

There is also a gui to mount the shares to avoid doing it from the command line - this is again in the repo.

with stock kernel or with modified as cashclientel suggests?

Another way is to install "PS3 Media Server" on your PC. It will let all devices on your LAN see files you want to share. When you open Media Player on N900, the computer name will be displayed automatically for you to click on. Easy to set up and pretty convenient.
