Hello all !
I have a Portable battery back up and charger Zagg Sparq. I use it to charge my iphone and Ipod when i am outside.
I know n900 has ability to charge over a USB cable through Pc. But i am curious which the N900 can be charged by this portable battery?

It has two USb port:
1 Optimized is for any device that are capable of taking an optimized charge.
1 general: is used for the standard USB specification and not use optimized.

I dont know which field N900 is belonging to

Darn it.. it is very useful. It has two parts why it can not charge.
I really want to know the charging specification of N900 (rate, voltage of recharge and discharge)

You can short the D+/D- cables and it should start charging.

edit: i rememver there's a thread about it too, something with "Charging from dumb sources" in the title

I have the Zagg Sparq battery. It does charge my N900. Since it's just a dumb battery, it takes several tries before the N900 recognizes it. Just insert the plug slowly into the N900. If it doesn't say Charging after a second or two, unplug and try again.

Or it might say that it can't charge because there isn't enough power... I tried with a blackberry and a powermonkey and that's the result, even after shorting the data.

The Zagg Sparq v.1 does charge the N900, if you have the right cable. There was a "charging cable" someone recommended here in a different thread, and since I used that, it has worked fine.

Now, I know Zagg has done a recall of the Zagg Sparq and came out with a new version that supposedly addresses this problem. (2.0) I don't know if it actually does or not, tho.
