Subject says it all.

(If not AbiWord, then how about OpenOffice? :-) )

I'm confused. I successfully downloaded abiword last week from one of my primary repositories (or maybe it was from the updated Maemo application list.) In any case, it's working fine

I had a great deal of no luck at all getting a recent version of AbiWord to parse Word documents, which is what I really, really need it for. Other than that, the OS2006 packages are as good as anything I have kicking around. I've made no real headway with regards to Hildonization: it is a truly abysmal process...

That said, interesting Java developments are on the way.

I generally parse "news" as "something new".

Er ... any chance you can try and figure out which repository? Thanks!

Rehash hear, but for all of you who want to edit word docs on the N800,
here is the link:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...hlight=abiword

SLIGHTLY BUGGY. It crashes every once in a while (but don't other builds do this too??) is non-hildonized, and likes all caps with the thumb board, but works pretty keenly with my thinkoutside keyboard on the latest OS2007. Just get used to hitting ctrl-s often!!

on edit....I think you have to delete the newer build repository of ABI Word and also enter red pill mode (add repository named matrix, hit cancel...) to see this older build of ABI Word.

There are apparently many ways to skin a cat. Also, review the thread "Abiword on N800" in the "Nokia N800" directory. Good luck.

I've been using docreader and antiword converting docs because Abiword doesn't show properly doc-files, mainly lot of ?-characters. Both apps work in N800.

.doc isn't a format. It's a ball and chain.
