I believe Pecan is the lightest on battery consumption from what I've read around here. That is the one I use.

well, there can always be bugs:

I would go with pecan though, i think the guy that developed it did it because the other protocols had bugs that the developers were not able and willing to fix. at least the guy that made pecan has an n900

I am having the same issue,
Now when i used more protocols its even more buggy.
Gonna flash my nokia today.
I think i gonna try pecan but all are very bad @ this moment.
Very sad becuase i like it very much to have msn contacts in my phonebook.

When on wireless network they all work o.0 and quick

Very strange

Actually, Butterfly works for me without issue since PR 1.2

Haze is unable to connect sometimes, for no reason.
Pecan sends me "authorization requests" for all my deleted contacts every time I log in.

So, Butterfly is it.

Slight correction; I'm the guy that wrote msn-pecan (most of it), but I also wrote the one used by haze (most of it).

So I know both code bases and I can tell you there's a reason I forked msn-pecan Besides, I own an N900 I can fix issues directly. Not to mention that I actually work in Nokia, so I know now to program for the N900

Since he forked Pecan, its obvious that he prefers it.

I have a similar feeling about it, although since 1.2 the bug that doesn't show your contacts when you press the Send IM button even though they are online is really annoying.

Daneel: you mean when you press "New IM"? That's a bug in the conversations UI. However, there's a workaround in telepathy-haze that I will backport to msn-pecan
