I had get my N900 for about 1 month.

And with 2 weeks, not power off.

Yesterday, I found my N900 lag a lot,

so I made a restart.

Some application called Hildon crashed beifore I power off.

After then, the N900 cannot start anymore.

It just keep showing the "NOKIA" screen every 10 seconds.

I had searched some threads here,

and I find 2 people has the same problem like I had.

It should be caused by the unstable widget.

I had tried to go into the RD Mode, but it does not help.

It is hard for me to recall which widget caused this.

I think it should be Mobile Hotspot. Just Maybe.

I think re-flash the OS can solve the problem.

But I had done a lot of configuration on my N900,

So, is there any easy way?

I had found some one say can use SSH to do some edit in config file in rd mode and start the N900 successfully and keep the former configuration and settings, but I had not install OpenSSH on N900 before, how can I use SSH on N900 ?

And I bought N900 from HongKong, which ROM should I use then ?
Global ROM or UK ROM or other ROM ?

Thanks !

Greeting my fellow,

The first thing we must know is that: is your N900 brand new or second-hand?

Say, what is the Firmware version(韌體版本) show in Setting(設定)->About the product(關於本產品)? Does it show 10.2010.12-9 or 10.2010.19-1?

problem solved by reflash the OS.

The root cause may be the lost of kernel flahser.

Because before I power off the N900,

I installed mobile hotspot and kernal flasher,

Then I find it is not very useful to me, so I uninstalled it.

Then after the power off. the N900 cannot load OS anymore.

So, the root cause should be the lost of kernel flasher.

maybe the command flasher-3.5.exe -k 600 -f -R

can solve the problem.

I'm not quite sure because I had reflash the whole system.

The system is very smooth right now, no any lag.

rootfs size is about 100MB.

Thank you all for your help !

Actually, I can send the N900 to the NOKIA customer service, and then they will send it back to Hong Kong for RMA (repair). The solution is also reflash the OS.

It takes about 1 month.

And I cannot endure such a long time, so... I do it myself. lol
