Under the debug ports section of the wiki article about hardware hacking(Here)there is a brief mention about a serial port. This got me thinking: is there any way to get the n900 to communicate using a serial connection via cable?
Has anyone tried and if so were you successful in finding a way? Spontaniously i tought it would be possible if one used the mmc GPIO pins and some code but i am a beginner so thats most likley a longshot?
Any thoughts or ideas about this?

Serial port can be enabled, see http://wiki.maemo.org/R%26D_mode

Thank you for that link. I have been googeling quite a bit but have found nothing useful that way (only stuff about serial via bluetooth)
