Hi Guys,

I am seriously considering buying the n900, as I love its concept.

Could someone with an n900 tell me, if video streams from
www.ard.de, www.zdf.de, abc.com, nbc.com, espn3 (<-- very important) work? And how difficult is it to set up the superNES emulator and play old titles?

Thanks for answering these rather non-technical, purely entertainment related questions!

Do those video streams need a flash player ?

if so do not get the n900, as n900 is most likely not getting flash 10.1

its all in german or something ? sorry i have no idea what to click

but you can test it on your PC, if it requires flash - then i will advise against getting the n900, as sooner or later sites will upgrade to the newer flash 10.1 then poof your n900 wont be able to stream it anymore.

espn3.com does not work
abc.com does not work

they need flash >10 which n900 does not have.

thanks for your answers.
ZDF mediathek runs fine over wifi when switched to HTML instead of FLASH.

im guessing the sites need flash 10.2 or above, as this video shows a n900 running flash v10.1?

OLD. And also irrelevant since it seems unlikely that Maemo 5 will get Flash 10.1.

ah ok i thought this was the version needed. i guess not!

If it is whats needed, then youll have to give solid proof as to why adobe wont be releasing it, or updating flash anymore for the n900. the n900 is still fairly new.. you can argue that if it was to be released, it wouldve been out aeons ago, but this phone can be buggy with some apps.. perhaps they are taking the extra time to make sure it runs well within internet browsers? of course, the other reason might well be that the n900 just isnt up to the job performance wise of supporting the latest flash. it didnt look good either when everybody was cheering at the flash support of the android in the above video, whilst only giving a few seconds with the n900 running flash as a mere introduction - things are moving at a fair pace within the mobile market.. you never know, perhaps the android will be nothing but a mere memory in a couple of years also

There is nothing on the adobe website about any nokia support, aside from the fact that Linux implementation+conversion kits are available, so perhaps we will have to wait until flash 10 gets unofficially ported over to the nokia n900 instead.
