Hi,

I have a problem with my N900, when I try to call I get this error : Cellular network not available

And the cellular network does not appears in the "select connection" menu.

My phone is under PR 1.2 firmware and was working fine by now.

I've checked and tried many things :
- In settings/phone I've made sure than the N900 is in Dual network mode.
- I've rebooted it.
- I've restored the originals setting of the phone with the backup tool
- I've uninstalled recent apps.
- And finally I flashed the device with this method : http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...ng_your_device

I'm in a location were my operator is available, I don't think the problem comes from that side.

An other information, when I leave my N900 near speakers sometimes I can hear the typical sound it makes. So maybe it's not an hardware problem...

Have someone any clue about what I can try ?

Have you flashed the phone with the same firmware that you used earlier?
If you flash you phone with older fw that you used earlier, this cellular network not found- problem will occure.

Happened to me, had to flash it with the same firmware. Also I emptied the emmc (harddrive of the phone?) , that might have also helped getting it to work.

Let me guess "happy tmobile users". I'm having the same problem today. Network busy or connection error. This happen to me awhile back about a month ago than it just started back working. I don't talk on the phone much but when I do want to talk it would be nice to be able to talk ya know.

I have had this happen a few times. I switched to offline mode, then back to normal. Worked for me.

I have the same problem that you've mentioned - both the network not available and the sounds from the speaker.

I've tried reflashing both to the latest firmware and the vanilla emmc but it's useless. I believe it could be malfunctioning hardware.
