had an alert for app updates in status bar clicked ok to update and it failed ran apt-get update that seemed sucessful ran apt-get upgrade that failed ran apt-get upgrade again then tried app manager update again and failed log below. i uninstalled battery-eye a while back.

this could be a major bug in battery-eye. contact testingsquad or some other entity about it. the app should be retested imo if this isn't a single issue.

No, it's a corrupted status file. There's a backup at /var/lib/dpkg/status-old, so you could try replacing it with the backup. If that still fails, there's some scripts knocking around to rebuild the status file - I've never tried this though, so I don't know which ones work best.

thanks replacing with the status-old backup file worked
