Hello,

I was wondering if it is any way to install Maemo or any other linux OS on the Nokia 9500 communicator.

Everything is possible, in this case, it's will be really hard optimizing maemo to th 9500. but who knows...

I don't think I've heard of anyone installing anything else than original firmwares on Nokia Symbian devices, they're locked down pretty good..

Texas Instruments OMAP (150 MHz)
that will be pretty painful experience, especially because there probably is no 3d hw acceleration on board....

i don't think jailbreaking ios and flashing completely new bootloader+os are quite the same.

I mean, sure it would be possible but one would need to write their own bootloader and flash that using JTAG (or something), after that flashing the kernel and rootfs would be slightly easier.

processor speed and available ram are also issues. if some embedded uber hacker pulls it off "just because" then my deepest respects but I wouldn't hold my breath (there must be plenty of more productive hacks for them to do)
