So will there be another hacker edition release for the march release of OS2007 or is that it?

I can see from your question that you haven't completely given up on Nokia yet. I admire that.

No, there will be no more updates from that despicable company. They have completely abandoned us.

Although I have several reasons not to believe in Nokia anymore, I still do - the same way I expect to win in the lottery each week

The Hacker Edition is a fine, exciting and very useful piece of work. Despite of what Nokia says, it seems to be end user ready. I'd love to see at least one more version of it.

Well, from the wiki entry on maemo, it looks like they're still working on it and after using the hacker edition, I can't go back to os2006. Well, I tried and my browser was crashing so much. I don't remember it crashing that much before I updated to os2007 but I'm guessing I was just more forgiving. OS2007 seems a lot more stable even if it is a "hacker" version.

So yes, I hold out hope.

phi, I can't find the entry you mention-- do you have a link?

EDIT: never mind-- I assume you're referring to the comments near the bottom of the page at http://maemo.org/maemowiki/Os2007On770 .

I love the hacker ed and would still be using it if it weren't for a couple of reasons like the complete inability for Opera to work for longer than 2 mins without locking and rebooting (it was honestly unusable)... pity though, it is more polished in other aspects.
Why does no one seem to be working actively on a better browser?!?

That's funny, because Opera seemed to be dying and crashing a lot when I downgraded to OS2006 but its been a lot more stable with the hacker edition.

I was constantly bombarded with "Internal Error" messages, then reflashed and it got worse. Weird.

That's odd. Opera is rock solid for me with OS2007 on N770. I don't remember it ever crashed in OS2007. I still remember how much it crashed with OS2006. One difference may be that I have Flash plugin disabled.
