i recently tried to do the nitdroid thing, followed all instructions on the site exactly as written, and i have this problem:

phone boots, white screen, says 'nokia n900 bootmenu' and underneath 'press a key to select'. pushing keys seems to do nothing but reset a timer; leaving the countdown it goes about half way and phone powers off.

help?! what can i do. is reflashing the only way to get a functioning phone back or is there some way i can capitalise on the 3-4 hours work i put in try to get this bloody nitdroid thing to work?

Press 0, it should boot Maemo.

i dont suppose you'd have any idea as to why it wont boot android if i followed all the instructions correctly?

Try asking in the NITDroid help thread. I'm on vacation right now so I can't help much!
