Ok so i found this password manager app/extension for the MicroB browser on App Manager, i tried to install it but it always failed. It downloads fine and installs fine and didn't give me any error messages, but when i checked MicroB, it's like it never installed anything at all, nothing new has changed, and also the app is still there on the App Manager, which shouldn't be if i actually installed it properly.

So i tried using X-Terminal to install it but the app package isn't there, i did a search here:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-t...antle/install/

and it's not there in the list, so is it really removed or am i just having problems??

I really need something like this for the MicroB browser, or any browser for that matter. I know MicroB has the save password setting in its default option already, but it's not working for me. I'm an UNI student and whenever I connect to the WIFI in my UNI, it takes me to this portal on their specific login page, where i have to type my username & password for my UNI account, and then it lets me use the wifi.

So even though MicroB has the save password option, it doesn't work for that me because it's like a special page/portal that pops up whenever i want to connect to my UNI's wifi.

Our wireless univ network has the same auth annoyance. I seem to fix this by using a "remember password bookmarklet" Before I was choosing my user name from the list and password was automatically filled. However recently I have to enter my username each time (password auto filled). Baaah and repeat this every 4 hours. After more googling I have been able to come up with a better solution:

Following this guy's article http://cybernetnews.com/firefox-remember-passwords/

Locate your nsLoginManager.js on N900:
Code:
find / -name "nsLoginManager.js"
vi /usr/lib/microb-engine/components/nsLoginManager.js
within vi, find that term with /_isAutocompleteDisabled
and set if's return to false.

Hoho, username and password autofilled

More than %90 percent of the places I am in the campus are wifi covered, life is good with auto-connect (setting the search interval 5-10 minutes). I wish I could figure having it to auto auth in every 4 hours...

Hope this helps.

Some extra thoughts on this wireless infra login issues. I think I saw on someone with a Android phone having a program like "open wifi login" doing the exact job but automatically. N900 can search available or defined wifi networks in defined intervals. If there we can figure out a background process polling the defined auth point when a connection is established then the problem is auto resolved. In our network we get dropped out in 4 hours these days or when the connection is broken. It would be great if someone with more coding experience can make a few comments on this issue.

Thanks
