Not what you want :
pls tell me in detail as to what you did and how you got it to a NON Working state...and can you confirm this problem under sunlight..try calling someone under sunlight and lemme know if the screen goes off... i would love such a problem in my N900 .. no seriously!!
As for a fix :
i guess rebooting..or enabling and disabling the proximity sensor again from ShortcutD .. or in the worst case reflashing...this cannot be a hardware prob unless you have dropped it or some physical damage has been done..

and now disable the proximity sensor from Shortcutd..and then try.. ?

I was wondering if someone could please help me. My proximity sensor has stopped working. I have shortcutd installed but I never use proximityd, I only noticed the proximity sensor wasn't working when I decided to try using it as a dashboard shortcut. After I noticed that proximityd wouldn't work I tried making a call to see if the sensor would work and darken the screen when I covered it, but no go... it won't work. I checked in healthcheck and my proximity sensor state is: "open" I don't know what that means tho....
Can someone please help me to get my proximity sensor working again? Thanks in advance
