Not sure if this is even a possibility as I don't know if the powervr drivers are modules or built into the kernel. At any rate...does anybody know what it would take to use the new sgx drivers on maemo 5? Are they even released yet with Meego? If they are built into the kernel, can we use the Meego kernel with Maemo 5? Of course, the bigger question is: would this fix the vsync/tearing problem of maemo5? Just askin......

They're modules (open source) and libraries (closed source)

Backporting from 2.6.35 to 2.6.28.

Are they even released yet with Meego?
Not yet - we want to integrate kernel DSS2 patches and SGX patches first.

If they are built into the kernel, can we use the Meego kernel with Maemo 5?
No, several things in MeeGo kernel that Maemo 5 would be missing. It might be possible to backport modules and replace drivers, but don't take my word for it.

It might be an artefact of several issues, not only SGX drivers.
