I'm a newbie at the n900, lots to learn, and I've been combing the forums for a couple of days now and I'm stumped. The problem: I have voip (sip) over wifi enabled on the phone, and also have a T-mobile cell account for when I'm out of the house.

I want it to use wifi-voip FIRST, and only fall back on T-mob if it has to.

But it does it the other way around! Cellular seems to be the default, and I have to select the sip line every time. How can I put sip first?

When you goto contacts, why don u select SIP call from there instead of the cell number? Then in your recent contacts it wil comeup as an SIP call and you can select it from there later on.

Im not sure there is any predefined way of making it default.. unless someone comes up with a way/script ..

I don't have my phone to hand, but there is an option under internet/network connection in settings.
It will say something like, always connect to wifi when available.

I checked under my internet settings, and wifi is already set to "connect when available." It's a good idea to make sure the contacts choose SIP first. But most of my calls aren't to people already on my list. (Email or irc is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. I hate phones, on the whole. That's why I like the N900 so much. It's only about 2% phone ) So what happens is I start inputting the number, and then I notice it's on "Cellular." I have to go to that tab, select it, get the drop down, move the selection to sip, and after all that I can get on with my life. I'd like to see it default to *sip*. But I guess the message is it just doesn't work that way?

Say it ain't so.
