The idea is to take a 360x180 panoramic image (probably stored with equirectangular mapping), use the north, east,south and west views as the background for each home screen; but use the accelerometers to measure how much the device is pointing above/bellow the horizon and apply that to the rendering of the panorama, basicly turning the wallpaper area into a panorama viewer with the vertical orientation controled by the accelerometers and the horizontal heading controled by the panning begtween home screens.


ps: bonus points for turning the image to keep the horizon aligned with the estimated horizon indicated by the accelerometer data, so up in the panorama alwys matches up in reality regardless of the orientation of the device



pps: should this and my other app ideas/requests be turned into brainstorms and the respective threads moved to the bs forum?
