Hi,

I have a package on Extras-Devel that I would like to remove, qsportsevent. The reason is that I have changed the name of the app to MobiTifo, and I would like to purge all old instances and avoid having both availble in the repositories and avoid confusion for the users.

I understand that there is no 'self-service' way of doing this (yet), so who can help me with this?

/Magnus

Who is in charge for extras-devel now? I'd like to remove the libx11-data package.

I guess this package is causing problems with Autobuilder now... see this excerpt from a failed build:

Code:
Get:1 http://stage fremantle/free libx11-data 2:1.1.99.6+0m5+withxcb [183kB]
Get:2 http://stage fremantle/free x11proto-input-dev 2.0-3-meego392+0m6 [63.0kB]
Failed to fetch http://stage/extras-devel/pool/fremantle/free/libx/libx11/libx11-data_1.1.99.6+0m5+withxcb_all.deb Size mismatch
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?
Fetched 87.8kB in 0s (599kB/s)

It's even strange that this package is in extras-devel. The autobuilder announced that it would remove the package and not queue it, because it is contained in Nokia and/or SDK binaries. I removed the package from the control file afterwards and reuploaded the sources. Probably the size mismatch comes from different builds.

As an immediate fix, try using libx11-data (= 1.1.99.6+0m5) | libx11-data (>> 1.1.99.6+0m5+withxcb) as dependency (Edit: looked up the correct string, use ">>" instead of simply ">", as this actually means ">=", Edited again: removed the 2: and additional libx11-data).

Please remove the x11proto-dev package as well. It's a remain from a previous mess with my libxcb1 upload and wasn't deleted.

Autobuilder is must be really borked if it allows packages from sdk. It was fixed after the mess with libxcb1.

Remove a package from Extras-Devel?
Have you tried any of the following...
E-mail techstaff@m.o?
Ask on IRC freenode #maemo?
Report on bugs.m.o?
PM a council or techstaff member?

There should be some interface to remove the binaries without manual interventions

Thanks for the mail address, but there should be some visible wiki page containing this address:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Special:Search?search=techstaff, or it should be mentioned here: http://extras-cauldron.garage.maemo.org/HOWTO.html.

Still, I think there should be a way for the uploader to remove a package automatically, e.g. by "dput package-version.revoke" or something like that, or at least a way to look at the entire build result before it is queued for inclusion to extras-devel.

I have been pushing to get this page updated.
http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo.org_team

There is some information here.
http://wiki.maemo.org/Migrating_to_C...gment.2Ffix.29

However it is perefered to use bugs.m.o and/or contact techstaff via techstaff.m.o for all infra issues.

Autobuilder is in a fragile state at the moment, more of an issue is the fact that it let you push a "system package".
