just try running apt-get update from the command line, at least it should give you a real error if there is a problem. i think you have to be root, and close app manager first.
also might want to try "faster application manager"
you can manually install it from the command line if need be
try this too: apt-get clean

Ok well i tried them in the faster app manager, They worked and didn't give any problems. Thanks for the tip.
I put all of them except the first (i already had that one) from this link:

Anyone else having this problem?
