Your personal IP address isn't meaningless if you want to ftp or ssh into your phone. You need the IP address of your device to do that.
If you are talking about your External IP address, then that is possible, however I don't know how. I'd suggest a QBW would be the way it is done. I have seen a number of screenshots of people's devices with both local and external IP addresses shown on their desktop.

I would like a widget showing the IP used. I give you an example: now while I am writing, personal ip address is saying that my address is 10.10.0.1. I think this value is meaningless.
