Hi all

Today I figured out that the "general" profile is missing in the main menu => Profile list.
The only menu point is "silent". Before there was also the "general".
I still can change it with a D-BUS command, but still need this button back.
I can create another menu point with tweakr, but that should not be an option.
How could the "general" option disappear as it is a "built in" one which should not be deletable.

I installed some new testing programs in the last days and tested some themes, but that should not have an impact.

Tweakr removes the original profile control status bar applet. Create a new profile with it or rename "/usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu/tweakr-profile-menu-widget.desktop" to "tweakr-profile-menu-widget.desktop.bak" to get the original menu back.

Thank you for the tip.
I am a bit surprised, because it is already a while ago I installed tweakr, als I did not use it in the last weeks.

Had the same issue after reflash. I think I reported this a while ago and got fixed. I assume the latest package no longer has the fix.

I went and created a new profile and it now works, though I wanted the original.

OT: I used to think I needed more than 2 profiles, but now after 6 months use of N900, I think the two is just right. Easy to toggle back and fort. KISS

I generally use 2 as well, silent and non silent.

However, as common as they are, I sometimes need another. For example, I have a profile that is similar to silent, but with no vibration. This is useful in meetings, when phone is on wooden table and vibration is louder than ringing. It also tends to fall if on edge of table.

It is also conceivable that someone would like different sounds for alarms. Say, a discreet tone for reminders and a fog horn for waking up in the morning. Once could schedule "fog horn" profile from 6 to 8 AM.

It's still useful, IMO.
