Good day All,

After flashing my N900 two month ago, it worked just fine, until few days ago; occasionally some applications started shutting down on their own with few other glitches,,, and then the phone would restart, the white screen with NOKIA would come on for a while than shut down..

Trying to flash again (using http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware), the actual software flashes well until I get to the second point when I flash the eMMC; "suitable USB device not found, waiting..." a yellow LED comes on, the USB symbol disappears from the screen and two scenarios;

Scenario1) If phone is left connected, after couple of minutes, the scanning white dots come on the screen and freeze at a certain point and the flashing begins until the end at which time the phone will come on and go into a restart loop.
Scenario 2) If i disconnect, remove the battery and reconnect, retyping "U", nothing happens.

BTW: I'm using Vista 32 and have disabled driver signature, which have worked in the past.
What is unusual this time; there is no white LED response at all and if I remove the battery while the USB cable is connected, the speakers produce a contentious zzzzzzz noise..

I hope someone can help.
Thanks.
TD.

From other slightly similar posts, generally the cause has been an eMMC chip that has come loose on the board after a fall.

In pretty much all cases the only resolution has been to send it back to Nokia.

Sorry it's not better news.

Hi dchky,

Many thanks for your reply, yes, it seems the issue is serious and the option to send it to Nokia is not a possibility for me.
I guess it will have to go to my mobile museum..
Regards,
TD.
