OK I tried it on Pidgin on N900 and it didn't work. Apparently Maemo Pidgin doesn't support audio chat. But this is still awesome, isn't it? If there's some way to tweak the current gmail talk plugin...
I had set my N900 aside for a while since I switched to Verizon but just got a MiFi for work and I know it allows VOIP calls.
I also use Google Voice for all my calls and with the addition of google allowing us to tie google voice with google chat I have a few questions.
I am assuming I can add my Gmail account to the VOIP and IM accounts on the N900 and when someone calls my Google Voice number I will receive the call. I know with Skype out I can dial my contacts, so will I be able to do the same with Google Chat?
When I make calls through Gmail on the computer my Google Voice number is shown on the caller ID, if I can accomplish this on the N900 then I won't need a Skype account.
Anyone try this yet?
