I would buy the N800 if it would stream NPR. I've tried to get CompUSA and others to demo this funtionality before buying and no one has a clue. One salesperson said NPR would only stream to Windows systems, PC or Mobile. Anyone confirm or refute that?

rather than stream NPR from the internet, why not use the built in FM receiver, and listen to it natively over FM stations? Use the link below to find the FM dial settings, and tune in via FM Radio app.

*** Please note that the headphones must be plugged in (all the way), for the FM tuner to work, as they act as an antennae. you local CompUSA counter jockey will not be able to demo this functionality, as the FM Radio app is not installed in the factory default image.***

mind you that if NPR does have a streaming feed, you will be able to listen, when connected to a wifi hotspot, as the n800 does have streaming capabilities.

I used to listen to NPR from Moscow, and I doubt that the native fm receiver would have worked. I was just listening to kcrw.org's live internet feed from my N800 and it worked fine. It is one of the best NPR stations in the country. For some reason I had a hard time getting it to work at first.

The reason to use the wifi access, rather than FM is to catch particular shows that have links on the NPR site. Can anyone give explicit set up details for logging on and getting NPR?

Thanks

Mike

You want programs like All Things Considered, Morning Edition, etc, right? But you don't want them thru KCRW or some other NPR station, you want them from the NPR site only? If so, I don't know how to do that.

Try these links. They work on mine with the standard IT OS2006 (Last release) Audio Player application. I live somewhere where there is almost no signal for anything like this, so I spent some time looking. I hope that this helps!

I forgot to mention: Use either the "mp3" links or the "Real" links. If you are behind a firewall that blocks the port or ports needed, it won't work.

Another option is to just grab the Podcasts from the NPR main site. Their "subscribe" pages have links that allow you to directly download the latest episode.

Hi,
Once a station is added to the Favorites playlist, how can one permanently remove it from the playlist? I remove stations only to have them reappear when I restart the audio player.
