It's quite baffling! I can connect to my home wifi without any issues. I can see the computers in my home network and easily stream media from them. I can set my social availability on the internet and it works fine.
Email will usually not sync for hours at a time and it can take up to 10 minutes to download individual mails, and I can't use any of my browsers. MicroB will stop downloading web pages half way and never actually completes. Opera Mobile will not even begin to download web pages. Firefox is like MicroB and takes ages to get halfway through to any web pages and stops downloading before the end.
All of these things work perfectly well while using my 3G connection.
What can it possibly be?
Note, I havent tried using wifi anywhere else yet...only my own home wifi.

try disabling all the power saving settings from n900 wlan settings?

(advanced settings under connection settings, tab named others or similar)

please keep in mind that removing power saving means significantly shorter battery life.

you could also try changing your routers power saving etc settings but removing powersaving from n900 is the quickest way and it has the best probability to succeed.

Battery life is not so important for me while I'm at home (I work mostly from home) so it doesnt really matter because there's always a charger at hand. I will take a look at my wifi router settings though. Thanks for the good advice.

where are these settings exactly, i cant find them?

Edit an internet connection (wifi of course), click "Next" to the end then click "Advanced".
