i do a desktop switcher widget is not good but do what you wanna do but have a bugs and need some fixing if you want use it and fix it

I seem to recall such a beast could be user-made with either the Desktop Command Execution (DCE) or Queen Beecon Widget(s). Maybe take a look at those topics ?

I really agree with sth like that one on android
I have never gotten comfortable/proficient the swiping movement or the thumbs-at-the-edges-and-release dance. There must be others who find it clumsy also.
Something like various Linux distro's Workspace Selectors on the desktop would be much more effective for those of us who get poor results from the swiping/thumbs desktop change methods.
