Open up the Terminal (Ctrl-Shift-X), change to the directory where you have the jar and type 'java -jar <yourjarfile.jar>'.
You can try 'java -version' to see if IcedTea was installed correctly. It will give you some version info.
PS: Again, there are no icons for IcedTea.

Maybe this helps:

icedtea6 installed on my 900 only for running java(.jar)apps
but there is no icon to run the application.how to use it now?
