Is there such feature considered in ongoing overclocking discussions? For a newbie like me it sounds it should not be too hard to implement but personally I would not even know where to start

For this kind of small idea I thought Brainstorm thread looked too formal. And maybe overclocking is such idea that should even not be presented in there.

The thing is, would you really want your phone Overclocked when you charge it. Have you felt how hot your phone gets when using it @ standard clock, let alone over clocked. Im running mine @900mhz and it goes up to 50°C When i watch a movie while it is charging.
I would like the opposite for that reason, where it drops to 500mhz when i plug in the charger.

Did not think that. Valid point. Maybe could be doable with using temperature as a extra parameter but then gets more complicated. So should be like "when connected to charger and when battery is full then enable OC" Of course OC should be disabled when disconnected from charger or temp gets over some limit.
