Do anyone have the same issue as me? I installed statusbar disco applet, and it seems that it won't trigger the mute: although it will show it on the icon / bar of the volume (the loudspeasker with the red bar), the sound is produced anyway by the speakers.

In order to turn off the volume, you have to slide it to zero position...

Yep... Mute doesn't seem to work. Weird -- don't know why I never saw that before!

You should contact the dev about it.
