I'm considering getting a new phone for regular use and keeping the N900 for all the awesome stuff it can do.

Anyways I'm mainly attracted to the price and the durability of this thing(I drop stuff allot), as well as the bigger screen size and smaller package.
What do you guys think of the specs of the defy?( I don't know much about hardware) and is there a better phone in the same price range about $400-450?

Thanks,

One of my fellow workers has a Samsung Galaxy S that looks pretty sharp. It is the T-Mobile US locked version - Vibrant. I've messed with it for a minute or two. It is responsive, nice screen. I'm not sure how "tough" it is for taking multiple drops from table height. Maybe I'll convince him to test that at work Monday morning

The Defy's water resistance is a plus. The larger screen and internal storage is a plus for the Vibrant. A side by side comparison at phonescoop is
