AutoRemoveSms is an application written to clean up sms database by all those calls notification or spam sms. It is written with c++ and Qt and has several filter to customize to adapt to user needs.

The filters are not related to each others, if you pick the text filter and the date one there won't be a cumulative filter effect.
The app saves its configuration and there is a background version that can be scheduled with alarmed to autoremove sms.

Download (install): autoremovesms.install
Download (deb): autoremovesms_0.4.1_armel.deb

Cute. I have no use for this (I use Glogger to archive and keep texts, not delete them ), but I'm glad you made it and hope others find it useful.

Now if you made it so this auto-archived the texts (say via Glogger), and then deleted them, that could be useful to me. I could maybe use this after Glogger to delete anything more than a week old? Could you make a time option like that? Relative, like "one week old" vs an exact date? That would rock.

I can surely add another date filter which has the following options: 1day ago, 1 week ago, 1 month ago, 1 year ago.
But I can't say the same about the autoarchiving, it isn't the purpose of this app, sorry.

nice app for me as i have a bad habit of pranking my mates by flooding them with texts from my n900 by typing the letter a then send then a then send so my mate receives loads of text messages just saying a (i have 3000 texts per month), the only downside was my conversation with that erson would have a massive batch of a's ...... not anymore with'autoremovesms'

cheers dev!!!!

If you put just "a" in the line edit and run it, you will delete all the sms having "a" (the most of them imo).

Not in this application since it is just for the sms.

I can code another one to include email and IM.

I would like to ask first before going through and test the apps

Is this some kind of SMS spam filtering? (Since I see there's a 'daemon' checkbox in there) Or the filtering can only be done "after" the sms has been received, and daemon will only trigger it every some time intervals?
