Hi i would like to know how to delete files in the /and folder created when installing nitdroid to the emmc. When i try to delete files it ends up deleting the maemo files. what is the right command just to delete the specfic files inside that folder. Coz everytime i try and delete using the rm -r command i always have to reflash the firmware.

Ummm... I don't know - I never got into this NITDroid thing (will eventually, whenever I have the motivation to figure out how to make it ubootable), BUT since NITDroid uses multiboot nowadays - is it possible your need to reflash happens because when you delete the NITDroid stuff you also delete something multiboot needs to read to launch properly?

Have you run any uninstaller that comes with NITDroid ( I don't know if one does, hence me asking - if it does exist, have you already ran it before deleting this folder?) And do you still have multiboot, and if so, what happens if you try to uninstall multiboot, then delete the folder?

Better idea, honestly, than just deleting it, is going inside the folder, and seeing what symlinks where? And seeing if there's something in the maemo system files that gets symlinked into the /and folder if you install it (I'm guessing you used the autoinstaller from the repos, at least for part of it?).

You will need to remove files and folders individually (and yes there are lots of files). That is why the recommendation is to install to a partition on a sd card.

You will need to get a list of folders/files for nitdroid to delete or get a list of the maemo files not to delete (remember this will be different for everyone depending on what has been installed).

If you are to the point that you have re-flashed your N900, and you don't want / can't install to a sd card, you may want to re-partition your emmc before restoring anything in maemo. This way, you can delete all the nitdroid files without messing up your /home directory. Search here or on the nitdroid forums, there are multiple ways to re-partition your emmc.

This is the reason I didn't install to /home, even though that was the easiest way to get nitdroid on the emmc. I even questioned on the nitdroid forums why you would install to /home.
