I am from Hong Kong. I've been using N900 for 6 months. I'm not a geek, but I love this phone andI think it's the best phone I've ever had.

Now Nokia has discontiued N900 and they are not selling it any more in the official vendor shops. I could still get one from the unofficial shops tho', and the price has dropped from US500 to US380.

Should I buy and keep one more N900 or just wait for the next new model?

If I were you I would not buy and I would not wait. As a Nokia customer I am unsatisfied.
And all the expectations about N9 are not convincing me. Who grants that Meego will not discontinued itself? Who grants that N9 will have better support and will not be another "experimental step" like maemo devices?

I'd wait for the next model to be released, they'll be around on ebay for years if you really want another one.

People always say, "just because something new comes out doesn't make the old one any worse".
I personally don't understand this, and I'm sure Darwin wouldn't either!
What about when everyone upgrades to flash n+1, when html5 is a standard and anything with less than 512mb RAM can't even render a web page.

Will you be playing the same tune then?

Adapt or die!

Why buy a replacement for something that's currently working?

Funnily enough, i was thinking this exact same thing this morning... my advice would be to keep an eye on available stocks, and ask yourself the same question when it looks like it may soon become difficult to get one. That way, prices are likely to be cheaper, and also further developments may have occurred which will make your decision easier.

I've been thinking buying one more to keep it as a collection because it's definitely a classic to me. So, I hoped the price would go down, which actually was happening, to around US300 then I'd get one. However, Nokia stopped the production that's why it became a little urgent for me to decide.

Hi papillon. You shouldn't have listened to all those discontinued/desupported bs if you're living in Hong Kong, because N900 is still selling here.

Some people would believe everything the sales at some large outlets like Broadway said. They just want to sell you the latest models and of course they'd try everything to discourage you from buying anything older than a month. Check the largest Wilson(衛訊) at 西洋菜街, Mongkok, ask 四眼仔, he'll take order for you if you want one. Sometime they keep stocks, because N900 is still very wanted by people from mainland China, where N900 has not yet been released officially.

To the question whether you should buy or wait, you must not have visited Golden (黄金商場) for quite some time. Come on guy, there IS 10" Meego tablet for sale there. Check it out (mc jin).

Man are you really a Hong Konger?

Hey 9000,

I am a 100% HKer. I've actually tried all those shops, Nokia and Wilson, you mentioned and they all came up with the same answer, "not available any more". I'll definitely go to visit Golden this week and check out hte new Meego tablet.

What I am doing now is price research like what Tedri Mark said and try to get another N900 in best bargain.
