I posted this to the MaemoMapper 2.0 thread but upon further contemplation (and reading) I feel it's better a question of general applications then the functionality of MM (while I feel it'd be a big bonus to that effort it'd be beyond the original intended scope?).
I'm looking to see if anything out there exists for a 'visual geocaching' type of scenario. Simply put, a gps in line with the ability to pair gps data to pictures and/or videos.
I'm obviously by no means a developer, but if the gps unit has an open source driver and can hand off the data to an app that can write the pic/mpg(avi, mov..whatever?) format then it should be possible? and might already exist?
I'm just looking to use the n800 as a 'field cacher' of sorts.. quick, area relevant notes with illustration (as I stated in the other thread, I am going on an expedition of some mayan ruins).

Thanks for any leads/advise
