I am wondering if it would be possible to make a small deamon that captures IR commands and controls the N900 Media Player.

I assume it would have to learn the IR commands from a potential remote and when one is received execute a DBus call in order to control the Media Player.

Can somebody shed some light?

There is no any IR receiver. Sorry.

Nokia N900's Infrared only Emmit's.
Doesn't receive.
