Hi,

Yesterday I upgraded my N900 with the Community SSU updates. Everything seemed to go fine, except I discovered a little later, that it had broken my SIP support. It worked fine the day before and both my accounts work fine if I use them with a Siemens handset.

What happens is this:

1) If I try to make a call over SIP, I instantly get a 'call disconnected' message. GSM calls and skype calls work fine.

2) When receiving a call over SIP, the phone does not ring, but the moment the caller hangs up, I get a 'missed call' message.

This started happening with existing settings that worked fine before, so I am pretty sure something went wrong in the update.

Has anyone else seen this? any idea where to look for what is going wrong, or how to fix it?

Any suggestions appreciated - getting SIP back to working is high priority for me.

Thanks,
Jes

Which packages would these be?

It is certainly possible that something got removed in the update process, but I have no idea what it would be.

I can still see and edit my SIP configs in the gui, so at least those bits are still there.

Thanks,
Jes

What did you use to install the CSSU?
Keep in mind the CSSU does not replace SIP packages nor does it remove them, and Hildon Application Manager is the only "official" way to install the CSSU.

I used the quick link posted on http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU: http://j/mp/communityssu

I suspect it is some library that may have gotten removed in the past, or replaced with a -devel version. I made the mistake at some point enabling devel and ended up having to manually roll back something to get the avahi-daemon working again (I found others hit that problem).

I wonder if the best solution is to reflash to 1.3 and then do a fresh upgrade to CSSU?

Thanks,
Jes

It's the same problem quite a number of people are having, that app manager autoremoves several key packages after the CSSU update (presumably due to missing dependencies). Unfortunately there's been no reproducible instructions posted yet (I mean to reflash and try this tonight), so the bug is currently closed.

Just for some quick input, I just tested it here and it's working fine.

This is after the update that came through this morning (there were two in a row.)

At least this last update I did this morning fixed the weirdness of when I'd click on the clock, it didn't rotate my screen for the menu.

I should note that I tried SIP yesterday and again this morning after the recent update, and both have the problem.

I will probably try to do a reflash, do the CSSU and then start reinstalling apps to see if that works.

Cheers,
Jes

reflash? just do this:
Code:
root
apt-get install rtcom-accounts-plugin-facebook rtcom-skype-emoticons-theme rtcom-accounts-voip-support cherry modest-home-applet microb-geolocation
bug is already filed, can't be fixed right now
