I know Henry released a patch to make Xournal work on the n800, yet i don't understand it. Where it says on his page
"First install application from original author's repository:
Repository: http://www.bgran.net/etrunko/apt
Distribution: mistral
Component: user"
I go to the site listed yet i don't understand the Distribution: mistral Component: User. Stuff. I can't find the "component" Thanks for the help!

It was there just a week ago, I installed it. I wish I kept the package, because I just upgraded my n800 and I need to reinstall it. xournal was great on this thing. I'll keep digging around, hope its still out there somewhere.

You need to set up a repository in the Application Catalogue.

Start the Application Manager, tap the title bar to get the menu, tap Tools, then "Application Catalog...". Tap "New", and add the information that you specified. The window will look like this:

Tap "OK", then tap "Close". The app should ask if you want to refresh the application list -- tap "OK". Xournal should be in the application list; install it.

Then pull down the patch file from http://henryykt.googlepages.com/xournalforn800 and tell the Application Manager to install from this file.

Good Luck.

I've got the repository setup, but the repository doesn't have the packages anymore as far as I can tell. I have xournal in my application list, but when I click on it it sits at the downloading window for a minute, then tells me package can't be found.
Also, if I go to the repository in a browser, I don't see anything listed either. If I'm looking in the right spot, there should be a package in this directory right?

Thanks

xournal worked really good for writing notes and sketches. Does anyone know where I can find the original files, or know what I might be doing wrong? Whenever I try to install xournal from the application manager, It looks like it's downloading, then I get a window that pops up saying "Unable to download. Application package not found"

Is anyone else having trouble with Xournal, or does anyone know of a similar app that works well on the n800? I've got the maemo pad, I'll have to give that a try, but the constant clicking everytime I start a line drives me nuts.

I've been getting 'application package not found' for several things, like gnumeric for instance. I don't think I started seeing that message ever till the last few weeks.

I never really grokked the difference between Xournal and maemopadplus.

MaemoPad+ relies heavily on a database structure of documents/notes/sketches. Also, it kinda niftily exploits the pressure-sensitiveness of the N800's digitizer.

I think gnumeric is on the same repository as xournal. I had the same problem with that app.

I just noticed the pressure sensitivity, thats a nice feature. It seems to draw a lot better now than it did before I upgraded to the new OS. Xournal always gave me trouble when organizing things.
