1.Introduction

This software is useful to HAM radio users.

Mappero_3.2-golf_en with APRS features support NOKIA N900 . This subversion modify from mappero3.2. Thanks to BG2YF BD2RL BD2RJ BG2TTV BG2VJU BG2VIB. Special thanks to Alberto Mardegan,John Costigan and Rob Williams.
Mappero_3.2-golf_en support APRS,iGate,APRS Message,Bluetooth TNC (ex Kenwood D710 D700 D7 D72 Yaesu FTM-350 8R 8D,AVRTT,TT...)

2.How to
2.1 Touch the APRS icon start

2.2 APRS menu popup. Touch "Connect to APRS server" connect to internet. Start receive APRS stations and send APRS beacon.

2.3 Select one station (ex BG2YF)
2.4 The station operation menu popup

2.4.1 Select "Go to" --- Locate the station

2.4.2 Select "Navi to" --- Get one route can navi to the station

2.4.3 Select "Detail" --- More details about the station

2.4.4 Select "Message to" --- Send a APRS message to the station

2.5 Select "List Messages" from APRS menu. Read APRS messages.

2.6 Select "Send message to" from APRS menu. Send a APRS message to the other station.
Note: When APRS server or TNC connected.

4.Install
4.1 Install Mappero 3.2 from App manager.
4.2 Download N900_APRS.rar from here.
4.3 Extract N900_APRS.zip and copy all files to main storage
.maps\

ex:
.mapes\poi.db
.mapes\APRS

4.5 Run X Terminal
4.6 Input command below:

root
cd /opt/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/
cp /home/user/MyDocs/.maps/maemo-mapper-aprs.png maemo-mapper-aprs.png
chmod +s /usr/bin/hcitool
hmod +s /usr/bin/rfcomm

4.7 Download mappero_3.2-golf_en from here
rename (maemo-mapper_3.2-golf_en01.zip ---> maemo-mapper_3.2-golf_en.z01)
4.8 Extract mappero_3.2-golf_en.zip (z01+zip). Get mappero_3.2-golf_en.deb and install it.
4.9 All done.

5.Note
5.1 When use TNC. Be sure N900 power up then connect TNC first.
5.2 When can not connect TNC. enter X terminal.Input command below:

root
maemo-mapper

5.3 When use TNC send message. Be sure TNC method set to "6 Packet12 only"
5.4 When use TNC. Edit init files .maps/APRS/tncinit.conf
note: The default init file can use by Kenwood D710 and D72

5.5 Map Correct only use for China.

6. Open software WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY

Hi.
I've installed the app by your instructions, but whenever I hit any button in the APRS menu mappero segfaults.

strace doesn't reveals any interesting.
Any ideas? Can I help in any way?

Hi fmaresca,

Thanks for downloading the app. Please make sure following items:
- the OS version should be above 20.2010.36-2. If not, please upgrade your OS firstly.
- Install the Mappeo-3.2 in the repository(APP Manager).
- Extract N900_APRS.zip and copy all files to main storage
.maps\
- then install the mappero_3.2-golf_en.deb

Based your error message, I'm very suspecting the OS version issue. Hope this is helpful for you.

I'm on the latest versions... could be something related to i18n?
