I tried my 8125 8525 and A707 phone and none of them work for me. When I try to pair my 8525 it shows "Selected phone does not have services that can be used. select another phone. " Rom version: 2.15.502.3 radio version 1.40.30.00
Which of these phones are known to work with Nokia 770?

Not a be-it-end-all list but a good start...

Also, you may need to contact Cingular to add a tethering plan to your account.

If these are Windows Mobile 5 AKU3 phones, Microsoft and the carriers removed Bluetooth DUN leaving only Bluetooth PAN support (the latter isn't natively supported by the 770/N800). Have a look at these threads which discuss possible workarounds:

Those two threads are very complicated for me. If anyone has a 8125 or 8525 and could go over the steps on how they got it to connect I would be very greatful.

I think (but am not sure) that your device will work with the 770 if you buy the pdanet software. I use it with a Motorola Q and an n800. It works great and is VERY easy to setup and use. Trust me - if I can do it then you can for sure. Once you install the pdanet software on the winmo device, there are a few settings on the 770 that you need to add for the password, etc. that you can find for Cingular if you search this forum or google for it.

I think there is a free trial of pdanet, but I am not 100% on that. My insinct is that it will work for you and that it is probably the simplest way to get the phone and device to work together. Good luck!
