Hi all,

I was just playing around with the USB host mode installation and found that it required a Kernel upgrade (to Titan's Kernel). Went and did this - but now, the multiboot will not work anymore into Titan's Kernel! It does work however, with the standard kernel.

When I try booting into the Power Kernel, it comes up with a Guru Mediation error - N900 cant flash kernel, required files not found.

Can some kind soul please help with this situation? I have read all the threads and done as much as I can short of doing a reflash. Already tried the apt-get install --reinstall power-kernel power-kernel-boot command as well. It went to further update but still having the same issue.

Went to check my /boot/multiboot and have the following files:
vmlinuz-2.6.28-omap1 vmlinuz-2.6.28.10power40 vmlinuz-2.6.28.NIT.06

The three .item files are:
Nokia-N900-02-8:/etc/multiboot.d# cat 00-Maemo-2.6.28-omap1.item
ITEM_NAME="Maemo 2.6.28-omap1"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28-omap1
ITEM_MODULES=ext3

Nokia-N900-02-8:/etc/multiboot.d# cat 01-Maemo-kernel-power40.item
# AUTOGENERATED by multiboot-kernel-power
# !!! DON'T EDIT !!!
ITEM_NAME="Maemo kernel-power40"
ITEM_KERNEL="2.6.28.10power40"
ITEM_MODULES=ext3

Nokia-N900-02-8:/etc/multiboot.d# cat 11-NITDroid-mmcblk1p2-2.6.28.NIT.06.item
ITEM_NAME="NITDroid 2.6.28.NIT.06 on mmcblk1p2"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.NIT.06
ITEM_MODULES=ext3
ITEM_DEVICE=${EXT_CARD}p2
ITEM_FSTYPE=ext3
ITEM_FSOPTIONS=rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro

Can some kind soul please help with this? I am on PR1.2 (I believe since I never got any notifications to upgrade to 1.3).

Thanks in advance..
Ben

Looks like your modules might be gone, check if you have a directory 2.6.28power40 in /lib/modules/

EDIT: or maybe the bootimg is missing, check the contents of /boot/ as well

Thanks kopele..

I just checked and the power40 directory is no longer there - however, there is now a power46 folder (which I think was from the upgrade).

In the boot directory, I have the the multiboot subdirectory and zImage-2.6.28-maemo40 file.

How can I fix this?

Thanks.,.

Try reinstalling kernel-power-modules, kernel-power-flasher, kernel-power-bootimg, multiboot-kernel-power with apt-get install --reinstall.
This should install the missing parts of power46 and you'll be up to date.

Yah!! Thank you very much kopele.. Worked!

Was starting to get the *****s with it since I run it at 850Mhz most the time and going back to stock is just too unusable.. thank you so much!

No problem, glad that worked.
Also, you should upgrade to PR1.3 if you haven't already.
In Settings -> About Product:
PR1.3 is 20.2010.36-2
PR1.2 is 10.2010.19-1

EDIT: Although I'm not sure if upgrading will mess up kernel power installation. Worst case scenario you'll have to repeat the above process, plus the kernel-power package in addition to the ones I listed earlier. Hope this helps!
