Hi

Wouldn't it be nice if Skype on the N800 was network aware ?

eg. My N800 connects to my preferred home network as I roam from my car using bluetooth DUN and skype either:

a - launches and connects automatically

b - makes me available for voip calls (if its already running)

and vice versa . . . I leave a preferred WiFi network and my N800 switches connections to my cell and either terminates skype or switches skype to some messaging / call forwarding functionality ?

I like to automate things ya see . . .

Just a thought

Anyone know how to script launch/termination of processes based around a change in network connectivity ?

ttfn

I opened an enhancement request in Bugzilla (bug #1046) which requests support for Power Management profiles, some of which could be network (environment) specific and even go so far as executing applications depending on the available network connectivity. Add your vote for it if you think it might help solve your issue in the longer term.

Note to Nokia/Maemo - some input on this bug would be most welcome!

Thanks Milhouse,

Power Management Profiles was one of the other things that I kinda hoped would be slipped into this latest release.

Just some basic dim on battery / brighten on charge would be nice.

I have registered with BugZ and placed my X with regards.
