Sorry for the repetition...I suspect this has been done to death over the years, but I'm still not getting the album art from my OGGs showing up in the stock media player.

According to this bug, it should be fixed. I've just updated my packages, dumped the old "tracker-extractor-vorbis" package, and removed tracker's databases and reindexed...but all to no avail. The files play fine, but I get no artwork.

I added the album art using mp3tag, and it's definitely there, and mp3tag uses the correct METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE method.

..aside from the manual hacky step of creating directories with cover.jpg in them, is there something I'm missing to get this working as you'd expect?

...I've scanned the source for the packages ogg-support pulls in, but I can't see any mention of whether it only supports the old COVERART comments, or whether it supports the current METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE method, so I've no idea how the bug I've linked to can possibly work

...answering myself in pubic for posterity

Seems I've been a bit of a fool and misread the bug report, and it is in fact the tracker-extrator-vorbis package that pulls out the metadata. Just a tad of confusion about which version to use.

Now I know what source to look at, you can clearly see that it doesn't do cover art. The patch that's supplied in the bug adds support for the deprecated method using COVERART comments. I'll get that working first, then look at pulling in the correct extraction code from Harmatten.

Hey. I've attached the first attempt at an updated package. It will enable cover art extraction from OGG Vorbis files.

It's only a slight change to the patches put together by others listed on bug 7413.

Don't forget, you probably will have to tell the tracker to rescan your music from a user shell:
Code:
rm -f /home/user/.cache/media-art/*.*
rm -f /home/user/.thumbnails/cropped/*.*
rm -rf /home/user/MyDocs/.sounds/*/*/.mediaartlocal
tracker-processes -r
Attached Files
File Type: deb tracker-extractor-vorbis_0.1-3maemo1-qwerki_armel.deb (7.5 KB, 94 views)
